Sioux City Park is a theme entertainment park on the island of Gran Canaria, designed in the style of the Wild West and located between the towns of San Agustin and Baha Feliz. Only here visitors can feel like real cowboys and plunge into the history of the development of American prairies. The real village of the Wild West has been recreated on the territory of the park, where you can try to ride a stubborn stallion and take part in a bank robbery, duel, fight, can-can-dance or knife throwing. There is also an exhibition of reptiles, amphibians and spiders - some species are absolutely unique to Europe (for example, the crocodile albino Cristiano Ronaldo), and the collection of poisonous reptiles is considered the largest in Spain. Several shows are held daily in the park - an exhibition of Mexican horses, a demonstration of the technique of throwing a lasso, "The Horse Whisperer", a livestock parade and others. The legendary White Grass Native American warrior or Doc Holliday, the cowboy, can meet the visitors, or you may find yourself in the very center of a skirmish between cold-blooded criminals and law enforcement officers. Especially popular with visitors are the shows “Deadly Duel”, “Execution in the Town Square”, “Indian Dance of Rain Caster” and the performance of Mexican acrobats.
The total area of Sioux City Park with all houses, a church, a ranch, an Indian reservation, a bank and a saloon reaches 320 thousand square meters. m.! The park began in the distant 1972, when the scenery for the filming of the Wild West was built in the Aguil canyon in San Agustin - all the buildings were life-size, and the church was even larger in size than some of the real city churches of Gran Canaria . Alas, in the late 1970s, the era of Westerns ended, and films about the development of the Wild West stopped causing excitement and collecting cash. What was to be done with the whole city? Just turn it into a theme park! Today you can get here by bus from San Agustin, and from the bus stop to the park entrance you will have to walk another 10 minutes.
Bison, cows, Indians, horseback cowboys, bank robbers and saloons in the style of the Wild West lead during the development of the American Wild West.
